The deal gives France’s top division access to JioStar’s established domestic network, whose most prominent football property is the Premier League alongside its major cricket coverage.

Its significance lies in placing the competition on a platform with substantial visibility in one of the world’s largest sports markets, potentially making clubs and players more accessible to Indian audiences. The arrangement also combines digital coverage with linear television, allowing the league to serve viewers through both formats. With the 2026-27 campaign now the focus, the partnership represents a commercial expansion rather than a change to the competition’s sporting format.

Monaco moved to the top of Ligue 1 after beating Marseille 2-0 on Sunday.
